Introductory Remarks. The methodology of the State Commission Project Office has been tested not only domestically but has also received positive reviews from a number of independent international experts and researchers. Analysis of events that have had a colossal impact on human consciousness depends largely on who conducts the analysis, the neutrality of the expert opinion, and the extent to which the root causes of the phenomenon, as well as associated local and global vectors, are covered. Goals and Objectives. The authors pursued the goal and addressed the problem of arguing that, to objectively study such complex, multilayered processes as mass violent actions (confiscation, collectivization, meat and livestock procurement, etc.), which resulted in significant population loss in the USSR and, in particular, in Kazakhstan, Russian social historians must move away from stereotypes. In other words, they must be aware of current trends in international anthropological research and international methodological standa rds. Results. The authors of this article examined the archive of the Project Office of the State Commission, established by Decree of the President of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev in 2020, along with a large volume of publications by foreign experts. We critically examined the methodology, compared the methods of several disciplines using an interdisciplinary approach, and identified the specifics of the methodology of the Project Office of the State Commission. Conclusion. An analysis of the above -mentioned posi tions allowed the authors to confirm their hypothesis about the symbiosis of the humanities and social sciences, particularly law and historical knowledge, as applied to the sensitive topic of rehabilitating victims of repression and declassifying special archives.Downloads
