"E-MEMORY" - A SYSTEMATIZED DIGITAL DATABASE OF HISTORICAL DATA ON VICTIMS AND VICTIMS OF POLITICAL REPRESSION

Abstract

This article examines the creation, purpose and development of the internet portal «e-memory» as a single database of victims of political repression in Kazakhstan. The portal was developed by order of the State Commission for the Full Compensation of Vi ctims of Political Repression, established on the basis of the Decree of the Head of State No. 456 of 2020. The main objective of the project is to collect historical data on victims of political repression in Kazakhstan on a single portal, to create an op en, accessible digital platform aimed at providing scientific and informational support for the work of the Commission and to create an open platform for interaction between society, researchers and state institutions. The goals, structure, main sections, composition of information sources, database formation, regular data replenishment, and functional capabilities of the internet portal «e-memory» are analyzed. The role of the e-memory digital platform in the revival of historical memory and its significance for society are analyzed. At the same time, the possibilities of studying the history of political repressions in the 1920s –1950s using modern digital methods are described. The article shows that the database is constantly being supplemented. The author also indicates the future development directions of the portal - expanding information integration, using international experience, and the long -term development prospects of the platform through the use of artificial intelligence technologies. The “e-memory” project is assessed as a digital platform that makes a significant contribution to the restoration of historical justice in Kazakh society, the restoration of the names of victims of political repression, and the preservation of national historical memory, and demonstrates its strategic importance.
