Abstract

Confiscation of property and grain resources, constant forceful and chaotic campaigns: requisitions of grain and meat during the implementation of the "Small October in Kazakhstan" program, punitive policies, and judicial and administrative repression weakened the Kazakh economy. This tragedy was especially noticeable against the general background of the crisis of the Soviet rural economy. 73 The Asharshylyk tragedy (Famine) is a direct consequence of the brutal harvesting policy imposed by the political decision of the Center headed by I. V. Stalin. The article provides archival documents and statistical data reflecting the punitive nature of the Soviet government's measures against the workers of the Kazakh village, which forced them to choose flight. The leadership line of the Kazakh Party leadership, led by Goloshchekin, was accompanied by instructions to tighten repression.
