1937: REPRESSION IN THE FATE OF THE KAZAKH INTELLIGENTSIA

Abstract

The article examines the spiritual and moral crisis of the creative intelligentsia of the Kazakh people during the years of repression, especially in 1 937. Undisputed condemnation, persecution, exposure as an enemy of the people, as an alashordyk was a characteristic phenomenon during the years of repression. The article analyzes the accusations of prominent figures of the Kazakh intelligentsia S. Seiful lin, I. Zhansugurov, B. Mailin, M. Zhumabayev, M. Auezov and others. as enemies of the people. The behavior, opposition, resistance or obedience of the intelligentsia of the nation during the years of repression is 208 comprehensively considered. The Kazakh cr eative intelligentsia was condemned as representing the interests of alashordists, nationalists and the rich on the basis of published works of art. Unfounded accusations and criticism have always caused fear and threat among the Kazakh creative intelligentsia. In addition, they themselves had to see the mistakes and flaws in the works of others. And those who did not participate in the accusations were accused of not being active in exposing enemies.
