THEORETICAL AND HISTORIOGRAPHICAL ANALYSIS OF BIOGRAPHICAL STUDIES (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE HISTORY OF THE BEREMZHANOVS)

Abstract

The popularity and prospects of biographical history in modern domestic historical science are due to its powerful synthesizing potential and a growing scientific interest in the life experience of an individual who has absorbed an internalized social history. The method of biographical history allows us to trace the history of generations interacting with the social environment, with the outside world in its most diverse manifestations, with cultural and intellectual traditions. The shift in research focus from the biography of key political figures to the reconstruction of the gallery of historical figures of the “second plan” is one of the most sought -after areas in modern historical science. Applying the methods of a new biographical history will allow, through the reconstruction of the life path, to recreate a complete picture of the social and political context. The biography of the Beremzhanov family is a microhistory of a traditional aristocratic family with a set of power and social functions. For a long time, the family acted as a social guarantor in solving the economic, judicial, and political problems of the Kazakhs of the Turgai region. The article provides a theoretical and historiographical analysis of biographical research on the example of the Beremzhanov dynasty and on the basis of new biographical methods, separate stages of the life of this family are considered.
