RESULTS OF THE COTTON CAMPAIGN IN THE CITY OF SHYMKENT AND SAYRAM DISTRICT (BASED ON ARCHIVES AND MATERIALS OF THE SOVIET STEPPE NEWSPAPER)

Abstract

According to the materials of the newspaper "Soviet Steppe", stored in the state archive of the Turkestan region, the archive contains a large number of documents on how the construction of collective farms in Shymkent and Sairam district was carried out by carrying out forced labor during cotton sowing, characteristic of the Southern region. Someone knows, or does not know, that in addition to the campaign for the preparation of grain, meat preparation took place, the harvesting campaign was actively conducted, mainly by coercion. The article tells about the cases that occurred in the city of Shymkent and the Sairam district adjacent to the city. By "the struggle for cotton independence" of the USSR, "the cotton struggle -the struggle for socialism" we do not mean "struggle", but what was realized in the conditions of the third decisive year of the five - year plan by the method of sowing cotton, a real struggle, a fierce class struggle. As you know, the decree of the Head of State K. Tokayev dated November 24, 2020 instructed to "fully complete the work on restoring historical justice to victims of political repression and illegal persecution." In our work, the main focus of our search was to show those who suffered during those terrible years, including those who suffered from the cotton harvesting campaign.
