SOME RESULTS OF SCIENTIFIC COMPREHENSION OF THE REPRESSIVE SOVIET POLICY «EXPROPRIATION OF BAISES AS A CLASS»

Abstract

This article is devoted to the analysis of political repressions in the USSR associated with the confiscation of property and the liquidation of the «baises» as social classes in the 1920-1930s. Special attention is paid to the political campaign to discredit the «baises», their portrayal as «enemies of the people» and mass repressions that led to the confiscation of property and the expulsion of the owners. The research is based on archival materials confirming numerous legal violations, false accusations, mistreatment of suspects and the use of physical violence. An important requirement of the times is the need for an honest and fair reflection on these historical events in order to avoid repetition of similar mistakes in the future.
