Abstract

The subject of this study is an extraordinary figure, a talented Kazakh playwright, novelist, psychologist, textbook author, screenwriter, publicist, newspaper editor, educator, employee of the People's Commissariat of Education, and director of the Pedagogical College. Articles ha ve been written about Zhusipbek Aimauytov in independent Kazakhstan, and his books have been reprinted. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that modern readers know little about his period in Tashkent, as part of Vostkazgosizdat, a branch/office of KazGosIzdat, which was founded in Orenburg by A. Baitursynov and S. Sadvokasov. The results of the study of archival documents show that Zhusipbek Aimauytov essentially became a "golden bridge" between Kazakh writers and publicists, translators, prose wri ters, and poets of the Central Asian republics. Thanks to Zh. Aymauytov, Kazakh translations of classics of Russian and European literature by A.N. Bukeikhanov and Magzhan's poems were widely distributed in the mid -1920s through Voskazgosizdat. He was pers onally invited to work for the Kazakh People's Commissariat of Education by Smagul Sadvokasov. The author expresses hope that further evidence will be discovered of the close connection between these outstanding sons of the Kazakh people during this time of change.
