The desire to convey information "from below" can essentially be driven by: a) a morbid desire to be useful; b) a fear of change induced by extraordinary events that need to be reported; c) baser aspirations (envy, resentment, various complexes). Thus, during the years of the "Little October," if we disregard the situation of the "Great Terror," the population of the USSR had the habit of "snitching" (reporting), "signaling" to party organs about what was happening. "Signals" were verified, taken into account as something self-evident, a kind of feedback. Those who "signaled" received promotions and were held in good esteem as members of the Komsomol or the All -Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks). And, ironically, their names are preserved in the archives, mostly party ones, of the republic. The article presents the results of a study of "signals" and their authors, who exacerbated the situation not of an ordinary person, but of Alikhan Bukeikhanov. The study found that archival records are literally sparse; i t seems the "signalman" had to meticulously erase traces of his zeal. Nevertheless, a comparative analysis of declassified facts from archival collections reveals irrefutable evidence of social betrayal, which is doubly unforgivable: from the perspective of Kazakh customary law and universal moral principles.Downloads
